Random 5 on Friday 9/13/13

1. Husband and I celebrated our anniversary this week.  Eight wonderful years married to my best friend!

2.  Eleanor started crawling this past weekend, while we were at the beach.  She's not really "on the go" yet, but she's definitely moving intentionally now, as opposed to just scooting and turning in circles.  Oh, and she weighed in at 15 lbs (10-25th%) at her well-baby this week.  Still a petite little thing, with chubby little legs!

3.  If you know anything about me, you know I have a love for books.  So I am super excited about the library book sale this weekend!  It's a great way to support the community, and a great way to add to our home library at a great price.

4.  We are starting a review for Chess House.  It arrived yesterday, and we had to set it up right away.  Elliott is loving it already!

5.  We started co-op this week.  We took all of last year off, so I'm excited to get back into a group.  Eleanor went to nursery, and actually stayed!  Elliott had Five in a Row (they read The Story About Ping and did a Sink/Float activity), then Gym, Latin and Art.  He said they did something with clay and it wasn't dry and they were going to finish it next time.  Emory had Art, Gym and Pre-K.  I was a little worried about him when he was dismissed for class because he kept begging me to go with him, but once I walked him to his classroom, he was fine.  He chattered all the way home about his classes, and counted his "polka dots" several times too.

This post is linked up to Random 5 on Friday, which is hosted by Miranda at The Pebble Pond.

  2. Thanks for stopping by and yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel. My son is turning 10 at the end if the year, and looking back what an improvement in attitude. I was told up to 12, so I can't complain. Praise God!

  3. I hope you find some great deals at the library sale.

We received the chess set for review this week. Let me tell you I was having a hard time to get them to get any work done. I finally told my mom I would just mark that time as "Logic Class".

    1. I've already decided that chess would count towards our Math. My 6 year old is learning about coordinates and is practicing addition with the point values, as well as the critical thinking skills involved.

  6. Love that art project. I'm going to keep that in mind to use with my kiddos.

Chess is a hot topic here as well.

    1. I was very impressed with the mom who took on that art project with the large number of preschoolers we have at co-op. I thought it was great for their age group!
