52 Lists: Random and Quirky things about Me

This one's weird.  Not hard, really . . .I just don't like to talk about myself.

  • I don't eat eggs.  Or mushrooms.
  • I don't drink coffee of any kind--black or of the fancy-named variety
  • I hate to bake.
  • I'm not a morning person.  I'm very much a night owl.
  • I'm 5'0 on a good day.
  • I love to read and I love to read out lout to my children.
  • After our first date, I was convinced my husband didn't like me.
  • I used to play the clarinet, but quit in high school.  I sometimes wish I hadn't given it up.
  • The one show I can watch over and over (and over and over . . . ) is Gilmore Girls.
  • Driving in unfamiliar places gives me anxiety.
  • I was homeschooled in high school.
  • Even though I'm an introvert, my primary jobs before staying home with the kids were customer service oriented (retail and banking) and I learned a lot about people that way.  Introverts like to observe, and dealing with people all day gives you plenty of opportunity for that!
  • I don't like confrontation, but I'm not a doormat, and I will stand my ground, especially if I'm right or someone says I can't do something.
  • In fact, the first words out of my mouth after Baby #2 was born:  "I told you I could do it."
  • I've had one c-section, and three VBACs.  The last delivery was natural/unmedicated, and she was the fastest/easiest labor and delivery--the whole thing was a whirlwind...and she came on her due date, after I'd been hospitalized for a cesarean two weeks earlier.

  1. I love your list! I am an introvert, and yes observing people is an obsession of mine! I also get anxiety driving in unfamiliar places, and I avoid it at all costs.

    1. I almost never drive when we travel, and moving was hard because I have to learn a whole new city, the best driving routes, and all that fun stuff.

  2. Interesting list! I also do not eat mushrooms, and I used to play clarinet. Unlike you, though, I didn't much care for the clarinet, but I sure wish I'd kept at it and switched to saxophone!

    1. We took a cooking class once, and the appetizer was stuffed mushrooms. I was not a happy camper!

  3. Great list! I'm also an introvert and often my family has caught me "people watching" when we go to crowded places. I think it helps calm me when the number of people is just overwhelming. So nice to meet another night owl! I'm still slow moving this morning.

    1. Yes, and I think you can learn more about people through observation than conversation sometimes.

  4. Great list. We have a few things in common - I'm barely 5 feet tall, I hate all coffee, I'm an introvert, and I love Gilmore Girls :). In fact, we're watching the series with our boys on Netflix right now.

    1. Oh fun, my boys aren't interested in Gilmore Girls. We just started watching it again and my 9 year old asked "WHAT is so great about that show!?"

  5. Yay for Gilmore Girls! I've watched that show so many times that I don't have to watch it anymore (in fact, I use it to fall asleep to because I know it so well!) And I am right there with you on not being one for confrontation. Better avoided if possible for me. (There are a few things that will push me over the edge to stand up for myself, though.)

  6. I love eggs AND mushrooms! Ha! I have bookend C-Sections. The two in the middle were V-BACs. Thanks for sharing your list.
