A little doggy love

Last summer, Eleanor was fine with our dogs.  This year, not so much.  It has taken her several months to come around to Bailey in particular, mostly because of the dog's massive size and exuberance level.  She's a 3 year old chocolate lab.  In other words, she's a big giant baby that thinks she's a lap dog, never tires of fetch, and feels like a giant burst of energy as she runs past the toddler's face.

Yesterday, a sweet little girl woke up in an especially good mood and was playing around with her new big buddy.  Bailey may be big and formidable, at least to delivery drivers, but she's gentle and patient with the kids.  She will never take her ball from the boys during fetch, and she drops it at their feet when she returns (though she lets me and the husband take it from her mouth.)  No amount of eye poking or whisker pulling from a toddler garners anything more than a slobbery lick.  Or a "tickle" as Eleanor now calls it.  Although she's still a little apprehensive about those doggy kisses!
